I bought this grinder because it won a design award, looks nice and hopefully gives the perfect grind. At first I was satisfied. It's built like a rock (like a tank) and weighs a lot. It looked great in my kitchen. The automatic stop function, which detects the end of grinding, often leaves ground coffee in the machine. I pressed the on button after grinding to get the remaining grind out of the machine. Additionally, the grinding bowl is designed not to sit flush with the grinder, causing the grist to fly onto the countertop. After 9 days I figured I should have stuck with my trusty old coffee grinder that didn't win a design award. On the 10th day of owning the Ode Brew Grinder, guests came to us. I was showing off my cool new grinder and making coffee for us when the Ode Brew Grinder stopped working mid-grind. No fuss with a meat grinder helped. The grains were still stacked in the milling container. A small piece of beans ground in a cup. The thing just doesn't work anymore. I heard the engine running but nothing happened. I sent it back to Revain for a full refund. Revain has made refunds easy. I sent a refund to an authorized Whole Foods store and before I got home I received a refund notification on my account. I'll stick with my old meat grinder.
