Works great on "shiny " brass but not the zipper

Bought this cloth to clean brass hardware on a shoulder bag. It worked great with zippers but nothing with real pocket zippers. Both flashes and pullers were dimmed. Perhaps the zippers are made of a different metal, although previously they were made of a shiny metal that looked like brass. Four stars!

It darkened the brass and I couldn’t get it clean. It was a disaster.
