Like others reviewing this product, I have recently upgraded to a new HD TV and have therefore had to upgrade my DirctTV receiver to one that receiving HD signals. My house was connected from room to room with standard 75 ohm cable, and I used to be able to use a standard 75 ohm circular jack on an old Direct TV receiver to splitter the output from that receiver to everyone else broadcast television. in all other rooms. However, like many new HD devices, the new Direct TV receiver does not have standard 75 ohm or RCA output jacks. Like many others, it only has one HDMI output. No adapter exists that can convert HDMI cables to 75 ohms or RCA, and the only way to do that is to use a device like this and an RF modulator. If you go shopping you will find them at different prices. The Radio Shack version is twice the price of this one. This is by far the cheapest and based on other reviews I decided to give it a try. That works great! The only thing I've noticed, and I'm not sure if it's because of this device, is that my LAN channels streamed via Direct TV sound "distorted" when watching TVs connected to this device be reproduced with very high frequencies. low volume.
