I'm a YouTube user so my use case is different to some but using this mount helped me lose a few racks from my setup. I used to have the mic on one stand and the light on the other, but now I removed the stand from the stem and attached the stem to the top of this light mount. Then I used my hand to put the microphone back in place. I use my other hand for the camera that's attached to the table, but technically I can also connect it to the mount, but it's not necessary. Previously I connected it to another table and used it as a support. gopro as 5th camera for live broadcasts. By slightly loosening the knobs, I was able to use the mount as a movable arm to guide people around the studio. All in all it's a great deal and you can use it in some pretty creative ways, especially if you have extra adapters and mounts lying around. As a little tip, if you have a mic flag it will also fit comfortably on this stand if you decide to place it there.
