I don't know if there is a perfect way to get a car seat through the airport but this is probably the best way available. I recently flew solo with our 20 month old son - didn't have a stroller with me as she was waiting for us at destination but wanted to use the car seat on the plane rather than check it. Overall it did the job and was easy to use and maneuver. Pluses: The LATCH system is used; fits most car seats; collapsible for storage under the seat or in the luggage compartment; very durable (I was very comfortable with my 30 lb toddler riding through the airport in a car seat) Cons: I had a hard time unbuckling the seat belts; I'm sure they will loosen with prolonged use but just make sure the car seat is in the correct position before tightening the straps. I also recommend putting the child in the car seat after it is attached to the trolley, not before. In addition, before boarding the plane, you will most likely have to remove the car seat from the trolley. Most aisles are not wide enough to accommodate modern car seats. This is not a sidecar issue, just a general observation. So be prepared to carry your child on board (or let them walk), with the car seat and stroller carried separately.
