First, there are no instructions in the kit. While hanging C7 or C9 lights with these clips might seem like a given, hanging mini lights was more of a challenge. After playing around with the clip a bit and trying to figure out how the clip could hold the mini flashlight, I broke it. Examining the broken pieces, I noticed that when the tips are twisted and overlapped, it forms a smaller "clip" that fits in a mini flashlight. This forms an 8 so you need to squeeze the larger part of the '8' to reveal the smaller part of the '8' so you can stick a mini light inside. The problem is that the plastic is so hard that twisting and squeezing the clip breaks, rendering it unusable. I even did it in a warm house before going outside to hang myself. After twisting the clamp with my fingers a few times and then squeezing it, my fingers hurt a lot due to the hard plastic. So I returned to the tools. I carefully tried, with pliers, to pry the clip open enough to insert a mini flashlight, and ended up breaking over a dozen clips. I switched to needle nose pliers and it worked better. In general the clips worked but I would only recommend C7 or C9 bulbs.
