Review on Oxygen-Propane/MAPP Torches with Tank Support, Glasses, and Flint Spark Lighter - Ideal for Welding and Soldering (Gas Cylinders Not Included) by Ken Desens

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good little setup has a few downsides, but it gets the job done.

This kit replaces a Bernzomatic soldering torch I bought years ago that never worked properly due to the horrible individual valves on the tank ports and the lack of secondary valves on the handle. I never managed to adjust the flame. Also, that stupid wire rack never held bottles well. I mainly use it for soldering with propane silver. He's going to get drunk with MAPP. Common problems with this type of kits: You should know that they are only good for quick and easy work. None of these kits that use disposable cylinders will have enough oxygen for long! Oxygen cylinders are not cheap and prices are everywhere. I buy them at Lowe's or HD for around $12 compared to up to $25 online. No gauges. Pros: This set has valves on the bottle connectors and handle, and the flame is adjustable and holds up very well. a little work instead of lugging around a large rig. Adding a stand only costs $8 more than buying without. The rack holds bottles well during use and is convenient for storage. About the same price (or less) than the Bernzomatic kit. .Cons: Not the highest quality. The plastic cover on the stand has chipped off slightly. Mine was slightly bent in transit and a large piece came loose. There is no built-in way to attach hoses to a storage rack. The retaining clip is unusable. Slightly more expensive but much smaller than the Smith. Only one tip is included in the package. Please note cylinders are not included. Some have found this misleading because they are portrayed; However, cylinders are not included in the What's Included list.
