I ordered this last March in case of a power outage during a hurricane as I live in South Florida. I'm so glad I did. This fan saved me during Hurricane Irma. My electricity went out around 5pm on Sunday afternoon and I turned on the fan. It was on constantly until the batteries needed replacing on Wednesday morning. It lasts a long time and is worth the price of 6D batteries. I bought 12 packs of Revain so I was ready by the time the power came back on last night. What did I miss the most after 4 days without electricity? Hot coffee in the morning. I honestly can't say AC because the fan kept me pretty cool even though it was 99 degrees outside.
