Received this radio, boxed and programmed in the field; didn't have a computer handy. I think the radio is great so far! It's a great design and packaging to hold on to, just an overall great form factor. When I used it last night on amateur frequencies for my groups 'Net' I was told I had a good strong clear signal with the rubber ducky antenna provided, a much stronger signal than my RT23 5W I spoke to previously had the same people. Hit the rubber ducky at repeaters 16 to 20 miles away. I was told my signal came in full silence and was totally impressed with both the reception and transmission of this device. Had some problems with "field programming", can only lock one repeater or simplex frequency at a time; When I'm not using the computer to program it seems to overwrite the previous channel I had programmed. I'm sure it's just a matter of not using the computer program to input the frequency information. Can only program on repeater or simplex channel in the "field" without a computer. Definitely need a computer for DMR, their software is easy to use. Still need to find a code plug for it; but have programmed over 100 repeaters and simplex channels in both DMR and analog. Nice form factor and easy to use radio.
