I used this remote switch on a pendant light hanging in the office. It worked great. I simply plugged the hanging cord into a smart outlet, then hung the remote on the wall and pulled the taped tab to connect the battery. The switch works, toggles on and off, no problem. It does this through the same complex coupling process as other similar objects, and when they don't work, that's a real problem. But it arrived straight as a pair and worked straight away, no problem. happy with these battery powered wireless lighting electronics. I'll admit the plug itself could be a lot fancier, but mine is hidden behind a cupboard so don't worry. and as for the quality of the wall switch, it's all plastic and cheap, but it's minimalist enough to be tucked away in a regular place, so it worked for my needs.
