After a visit to the vet to have my dog's teeth cleaned, which required several removals, I purchased two of these items. One for each of my dogs, as two dogs shouldn't use the same brush (for the same reason humans don't). At first my two dogs were very reluctant to put the brush in their mouths. So at first I only brushed the teeth I could reach (usually the front ones) and let them lick the last of the toothpaste off the brush. Apparently it's like "treat". At night I put a little more toothpaste on the brush and put it where they sleep so we can give them a positive experience. Now they are more used to their brushing and no longer afraid of the process and continue to enjoy their toothpaste. So much so that they want to lick it off the brush immediately while I have other plans. If you're smarter than me and have brushed your pet's teeth since they were kids (and are used to it), then you'll probably appreciate it even more.
