The detachable solar panel provides a 3m distance between the light bar and the solar panel. Bad news: 1. Remote control - IR; You must be in front of the device to turn it on or off with the remote control. 2. Radar motion detection is omnidirectional and too sensitive. 3. The versatility of installing both array light and solar panel is very limited. The lock is triggered every time you move. This makes siren modes impractical and limits battery life to a few hours between charges. The remote control will be of little use in reducing the hassle as one must be outside and in front of the unit for the remote control to work properly. Think about how to mount this light and panel before heading up the stairs. There aren't many alternatives with the supplied hardware. You will likely need to purchase additional hardware. means for unidirectional motion detection and b. a means of limiting its sensitivity, and c. more mounting options before I could give it 5 stars.
