I suggest cutting the pads one by one before putting the pads on it. My old man has problems with his back legs so I decided to try them on all those legs. When they stayed it was great - it didn't slip and had stability. However, one day he went outside to potty and half came off. Not to mention the ones that got loose just because he ran overnight and was comfortable. I still recommend this product because you can always put decals where they need help and I do that now and they will last me for a while because I trimmed them down.
