Don't forget one important point.

It seemed like a great idea, and in some homes it might be. However, in homes built to a higher standard, your doors will fit the doorways very snugly. By attaching it to the hinges, you raise the door just enough so that it doesn't close because it hits the door frame. Unfortunately, my doors are very narrow and none of them have more than a millimeter or two of headroom that exceeds that figure. This is a great idea for the right houses, but unfortunately not for everyone.
