Critical Spot Error

This would be a great rod holder if it weren't for a problem. Unfortunately for me this issue is a point of failure. No matter how hard I twist the T-handle, the stem tube won't stay in place when light pressure is applied. For my trolling rods (7ft Star Aerial with regular 30 grade) the weight is superior to the rod/reel combo for grabbing the ball on the slightest push. After a few seconds of trolling through the water, the snorkel will lower until it stops at the side of the kayak. When trolling the kingfish with the drag set at around 3-4 pounds, the rod tube rotates all the way back into the kayak. If the pole wasn't tied, it would disappear on the first hit. No tightening mattered. Even with big pliers and tightened so tight I couldn't loosen it by hand. I tried sanding the ball with sandpaper. Did not help. I tried putting some sandpaper between the tube and the ball before tightening it but it didn't work. I even tried gluing the ball to the pipe. It worked for one hit and failed on the second hit. In general? What a complete and utter piece of garbage. I just replaced it with a Scotty pipe which I know from experience is 1000% better. I should have gone with Scotty first. What a disappointment with a product. I would return it, but my return period has already expired. I either give it up or throw it away. Pure garbage. look elsewhere
