It's a simple, high-resolution external monitor and very portable. However, remember that you will need an external stand. The case is great for protection, but the instructions for using it as a stand are insanely complicated. I figured it out (finally) after watching the video enough times (yes, it really took the video to figure out the monitor stand!) - BUT the stand feature is acceptable at best. Most importantly someone hasn't thought of the utility factor as the padded side that folds flush with the monitor is also the side they use as the outside of the stand. Do you collect all those nasty little things from what you set up and then rotate them next to that nice screen you just paid for? Not the best idea. Otherwise the monitor is still great.
