I tried two shiatsu massage pads including one with gel but both were very painful for my back. So I decided to try the vibrating platform. I read the reviews and ordered a few days ago. The package was a mess, a cardboard box half-taped together with its cellophane-wrapped contents sticking out. I was tempted to tape the box together and return it unopened. However, I finished opening it and inspecting the carpet. It was in new condition and undamaged so I installed it in the chair and turned it on. The included manual could have been more detailed, but after playing with the controller a few times, I figured it out. I have used it several times, as has my wife, we are very satisfied. The 5 star rating is well known because after 15 minutes on the mat my back feels better and I feel comfortingly relaxed. I am a 77 year old kayaker, swimmer and walker.
