My husband and I were looking for a high-contrast black, white and red children's gymnastics apparatus for our son. Small children cannot always see/focus well and sharp edges and contrasting colors draw their attention. Everything we saw in the store was the complete opposite of what we wanted and it was extremely disappointing. I have seen many reviews stating that the paint on this rug will bleed in the washing machine turning the rug into a black, pink and red rug and this caused me to delay the order. When I finally ordered it I put off washing for fear the colors would bleed. Then one day my dog marked the carpet, foam mat and kids gym with a quick shot and I had to clean them up. The paint didn't bleed, I used cold water and some oxyclin to get the urine out. In the dryer the black faded from a less BLACK black to a more average black but the rug still looks great. I also liked the little hanging toys that came with the gym. They were adorable and my son loved them. The singing panda and the squeaky caterpillar were favorites for a while. The arms that keep the gym hands on the mat are now connected with short straps instead of the buttons I read about in old reviews. I felt it should have been included in this review because no parent would want to buy their child a choking drug.
