First of all, the thing is *brown*. Not white, but *brown*. And smelly, harmless. My dogs (who eat raw) jump up and down when they first smell it. I held the bag open for them to sniff and they all stuck their noses in and started licking it dry! The reason I bought this product is because I have a friend who is interested in deer hunting and this year he brought me enough deer offal to feed my dogs for six months! I easily dehydrate the liver and other organs for their treats, so I cover some of their diet with organs, but I know they also need a bone source. I liked the idea of feeding unbleached, more natural bone powders. And it had the aforementioned effect I was hoping for: it hardened her poop! Dogs that are fed a raw diet and eat mostly boneless meat tend to have sticky stools. Add some liver to your diet and it goes from gooey to fluffy and REALLY gooey. Add some bone meal and it becomes tough and very easy to clean! Very happy with this product! :)
