Update: If you are looking for a hose connection solution for the DWE6423K, take a look at the Dust Right Universal Small Port Hose Kit Dust Universal Small Port Hose Kit. It works great. ============================================= == === ======================================== ==== ==Updated 05/16/2018 : I contacted Dewalt customer service three times with the same questions) and HA! What a joke - they were completely incompetent. If it had been just one call I would have given Dewalt some leeway, but after three calls I just gave up in amazement at the sheer incompetence and lack of any effort to provide good customer support. I'm not sure if they had any idea, or worse, even addressed the problem I described. It was as if they weren't even listening or trying to understand (just look at the pictures, or even better, the products themselves). I'm not sure if it had to do with being a woman or if they were just stupid and indifferent to begin with. The moral is: don't waste your time calling Dewalt customer service - it's a completely contradictory concept. Due to the very poor customer service I don't think I will buy another Dewalt tool. Instead, this girl uses her favorite power tool brands, Milwaukee and Makita. Oops. Apologies to all Dewalt fans ;-).======================================= = ========================================== . First of all due to the fact that the Dewalt DWV9000 universal connector does not fit the DWE6423. Maybe I made a bad choice to try Dewalt tools, I hope not. I wasn't sure if I should give the DWE6423 2 or 3 stars but decided on 3 as I think it has the potential for 5 stars if Dewalt can do a better job of providing a universal vacuum cleaner connection for shops. very disappointed with their second purchase of a Dewalt tool in the last 2 weeks but if I can't find a suitable solution to hook it up to a standard shop vacuum it will be returned. I am not sure if there is any difference between DWE6423 and DWE6423K. Although I couldn't find anything labeled DWE6423 on the Dewalt website. I ordered a DWE6423K and the box it came in says it's a DWE6423K, but as you can clearly see in my first picture the tool I have is labeled DWE6423. This may not be a problem, but it's still poor quality control in my opinion, as it creates unnecessary confusion when trying to debug a product issue. Connect it to the DWE6423 shown in figure 5 which has small pins that connect to the pins inside the dust bag connector. If you now look at Figure 4, which depicts the DWV9000, you will see that there are no teeth, but the threads that cause the connection to the DWE6423 to fail. In fact, the connector only goes part way in, but no further due to mismatched connection mechanisms. In Figure 3 I show the DWE6423 dust bag connector next to the DWE9000 so you can see the difference in the connection mechanisms. The dust bag connector has teeth that match the DWE6423 but the DWV9000 does not, instead it is threaded which explains the incompatibility. The Dewalt universal tool vacuum connector is simply wrong and misleading. I don't know how things are, but Dewalt should definitely do it. This is clearly either poor design, poor communication or a quality control issue on Dewalt's part, regardless of where the product was made or what may have been changed.
