Not Impressed: Kitchen & Dining

I LOVE OMELETCHES. But I don't know how to cook them on the stove. I searched longer than I wanted before I found this. It's easy to use, but I find it very limited. For example, there are two light bulbs on top of this machine. An indicator glows green to show that the device is on. The other glows red, which means it's ready to cook. But there is no light to indicate that the eggs are ready. So you have to stand there and keep an eye on the plate and try to lift the plate from time to time to check your progress. And yes, I mean stand there and watch because if you don't you can burn your omelet very easily. The second limiting factor is that this product doesn't actually make omelettes per se." I used to make egg muffins. They're easy enough, just beat a few eggs, season them, and add veggies like peppers, onions, and even bacon or add diced turkey. Then pour the mixture into a muffin pan, bake for 5-7 minutes and voila, you're done with the egg muffins. They're very easy and fun, but this isn't an omelet. Unfortunately, this omelet maker makes "omelettes," that is Egg muffins, just in a different shape.Whatever you add to the egg mixture essentially gets baked into the egg after it finishes cooking. This may or may not be a deal breaker depending on your preferences. The positives of this omelet are that it heats up quickly, cools down quickly and is very easy to clean.
