The metal broke after the second use

After much research I bought two previous models of Homeasy handlebar mounts. These brackets are highly appreciated by customers because they are made entirely of metal. I needed a third one and saw that Homeasy had created a newer model. It was only a dollar more than the old model and I was happy with the quality of the previous model so I decided to give it a try. I'm using it for a 20 mile bike ride on a paved bike path (Pinellas Trail, Florida). The second time I used it the mount literally fell apart. The phone fell off the steering wheel onto the sidewalk. I thought he slipped off the mount. Much to my surprise, the metal clasps on the back simply broke from the vibration. The phone was still held securely in the cradle, but the back of the cradle was broken. I read several reviews from people using them on motorcycles so I assumed they would be strong enough for bike use; obviously not. My cell phone was badly damaged. I'm not sure anymore if I can trust the previous model, which I initially liked. These blocks are made of metal, but this, of course, is not the highest quality metal - most likely it is cheap Chinese copper, which is not much better than plastic. So life is! I'll probably get an armband or a bum bag as I'm not sure about using a handlebar mount anymore. Don't trust a $20 mount with a couple hundred dollar phone.
