Review on Chrome La Pavoni EPC-8 Europiccola 8-Cup Lever Style Espresso Machine by Craig Mcdonald

Setting up the device was pretty easy but took a while as you want you to use the descaler the first time you start it up. All that work went well and I drank a decaffeinated espresso before bed. However, the morning brought bad news. The installation did not create pressure and constantly released steam. I tried several sequences of off/on, water level, tapping but it became obvious that the pressure valve was defective. I attribute that to the bad packaging. The device arrived slightly damp from the factory test, but was not wrapped in plastic. The styrofoam gasket was really cheap stuff so it was all over the block and possibly got into the discharge valve. I could probably disassemble it to clean the valve, but this requires special tools to access the nut in the hydraulic tank. The bottom line is this is coming back and I'm going to try another. If it works I'll change my review, if not I'll come back and switch to another brand.
