Makes an excellent bonnet trim

The modern Breville electric pump he was about to replace continues to give superior results. 5 hours of various grinding, pounding, temp etc and came to the conclusion that this is not art but old fashioned development for beginners. I'll be back in my Breville in the morning. Not all expensive upgrades work well. This was one of them, although I made a decent espresso before giving up and declaring it an old-fashioned hood ornament.

Poor quality compared to the predecessor

The finish on this La Pavoni is not as nice as the one I have owned for 5 years. My first La Pavoni was bought used (from Craigslist, who knows how many times it has been used and abused) and has been working flawlessly for the past 5 years. I've had it for 4 months and there are signs of degradation in the chrome finish and the sight glass plastic protection has melted a bit. These issues never affected my previous La Pavoni and I am very disappointed. I will try to see if the warranty can…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Best Homemade Espresso for Espresso Machines

Let me start by saying that this is not a fully automatic coffee maker or a coffee maker for the faint of heart. I would advise getting a good coffee grinder before you start. Second, get a quality coffee tamper; The plastic wrap that came with the machine doesn't work. I've found that you have to grind the beans very finely and pound the coffee with a lot of force (30-40 pounds). I give 5 stars for ease of use. but I lied; It's not easy to use, but with practice. you got the hang of it As far…

Second use error

Setting up the device was pretty easy but took a while as you want you to use the descaler the first time you start it up. All that work went well and I drank a decaffeinated espresso before bed. However, the morning brought bad news. The installation did not create pressure and constantly released steam. I tried several sequences of off/on, water level, tapping but it became obvious that the pressure valve was defective. I attribute that to the bad packaging. The device arrived slightly damp…

Best machine for espresso fanatics

I bet your regular espresso machine doesn't come with an 8 page instruction manual. First-time coffee shoppers should read all reviews and watch videos online before deciding if they're up to the task of making La Pavoni Europiccola. But once you get in touch with your coffee machine, you will always make excellent espressos and cappuccinos. I've been using La Pavoni Europiccola machines for forty years now, so luckily I don't have to repeat the learning curve every time I buy a new one…

Money well spent on kitchen and dining room

I fell in love with this item. It's durable and beautiful, and once you get a little experience with it, espresso can be phenomenal. At a time when everything is disposable and digitally controlled, here you have a system that lets you freely play with water temperature, extraction rate, pressure, etc. Almost everything is at your fingertips. There are many videos/groups dedicated to this topic and how to make the most of it. It is also at the top of the best budget home espresso machines ever…
