Really great lights

I love LED lighting. And so I set out to build LED bulbs that fit into RV lighting fixtures. I had old LED boards, all I needed were resistors and time to put them together. On a whim I (again) checked what was out there. Wow! These boards cost me less than just a resistor! And although they are cheap, they are not cheap! Each board has a bridge rectifier and a voltage regulator. With a bridge rectifier, it doesn't matter which of the "+" terminals is like in incandescent bulbs. The regulator ensures that the light output remains the same even if the battery power is declining and the LEDs are not damaged if the charger is taken a little and generates too much voltage. That means they are even better than my design. Oh, that also means these lights are not dimmed with a dimmer. Unlike some I've looked at, they don't have a separate base piece to plug into a 921 socket. Like my design, they have an unusually thick PCB, meaning the PCB itself plugs into the socket. No extra parts, no installation. Some 921 lamps rely on the spherical radiation characteristics of incandescent lamps. These lights are not a good choice for these applications since the LEDs are all on the same side of the board. But in my van, this one-way lighting is perfect. Since the LEDs are COB (chip on board) style and have no lens on the front, they have a light output of almost 180 degrees. I choose "pure white" because I like balanced daylight. They have a surprisingly wide range, and while I can't measure the color rendering index, they perform better than I expected for the price. Overall I am delighted with the design, construction, light output and color balance of these bulbs for my lights. And I didn't have to build them myself!
