Okay, this seemed so weird I had to try it. I've tried so many different ways of cooking hard boiled eggs and it's always a guess. It doesn't look like you can just pop it back in to cook more once you unplug it! It was even more difficult for my husband to cope with this task. So when I saw it I knew what the heck. Tried it the first time - and every time since - the eggs were perfect! We put them in cold water in a saucepan, set an egg timer and just watch until the red spot disappears. Remove the pot from the heat, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water. We've only cooked hard boiled eggs because that's the only way we eat them, but they turn out perfect every time. The yolk is just right without turning gray. My husband uses it every time he cooks eggs and he loves it! Besides, it just looks stupid! only joy.
