Food sticks to this item. Should I return it like this? I can't take it off

I liked that the description said it was microwave and dishwasher safe, lightweight and with a rubberized grip for easy handling when hot. It melted in my microwave and I can't get any food out of it. Coming back with good doesn't seem hygienic, but there aren't any other options either.
