Review on Topeak Mini MasterBlaster Bike Pump by Dave Wheeler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice little bike pump

This is a nice little bike pump that will get the job done in an unexpected home renovation. Of course, high-pressure tires won't get you in the 100-120psi range, but it's enough to get you home. It's pretty solid in construction and the dual-head feature means you don't have to change configuration to use between a Presta or Schrader valve head. It is small and quite light, and the universal clip is compatible with the bottle cage. My only complaint is that the pump is clamped upside down on the bike and if you're wearing certain slacks it tends to snag on the lever and either that alone is enough for it to bounce back with every turn, or fully open and still sticks to your pants, causing a lot of inconvenience. I've seen other models where the pump is upright, meaning the lever is pointing down, which eliminates this problem. The pump mount gives you a little wiggle room and you can try moving it away from the bottle cage. If that doesn't help, you may just need to wrap something around it, which essentially "flushes" the entire surface so it doesn't catch on a part that would otherwise stick out. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.
