Review on πŸ“Ί DISH MT2 OTA Module: Boost Your TV Experience with Enhanced Electronics by Jeff Jackson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

With an OTA antenna you can get local and network sub-channels

You can add locals to your Dish account and save $10 a month. This works great and has the added benefit of integrating all or your OTA feeds into the DVR's recording and scheduling, just like you would get them from Dish. In addition, with an OTA antenna, you can receive sub-channels that are not available in the Dish program channel. The sub-channels are often better than the network's main channels and offer a great selection of retro shows from the 50's to the 70's. It allows you to record, play back and use the channel plan (except for sub-channels that don't provide this information) to see what's on the air in the future. It's easy to install, but be sure to save the access panel that detaches from the DVR in case you ever decide to remove it. It works fine on my VIP 722k dash cam but may not work on later models. Your DVR should have an access hole on the far left rear of the DVR when viewed from the rear. This device is simply plugged into a PC and connected like a network or graphics card.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • A lot is possible
