Review on 60-Pack Purple Washable School Glue Sticks by Amazon Basics - Dries Clear, 0.24-oz Stick by Barbara Simmons

Good glue for crafting but not for 3D printing.

I bought these to use with my 3D printer's glass bed but they don't work as well as the Elmer sticks. The biggest difference I see is that this adhesive formula is softer than Elmer's, even at "room temperature" (65-70 F/18-21 C). When applied to glass, it often peels off in uneven drops, making it difficult to get a nice even coating. If the bed is warm, it only aggravates the situation. I applied the glue in straight lines and then, while it was still wet, smudged the drops perpendicular to the angle of application to smooth them out. Sometimes I have to smooth out with a wet finger or damp paper towel to get an even finish before I can type. Bed-sticking seems fine with this stuff, too. it's better than none, but not as good as Elmer's. I don't bother enough to throw them away, but I won't buy them again for this purpose. On the plus side the caps seal well, I've been using the same stick for a month now and it's not dry yet so it fits me and is nice. I'm not dropping stars for 3D printing issues because that's not really what it was made for, but if you want to get a ton of cheap glue for that reason you'd probably be happier with a plain old Elmer.
