Review on 🏍️ HT Moto 6L Oil Extractor – Efficient OIL01 Extraction Solution by Randy Perry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works really well, just with some limitations

Just today I changed the oil with a puller for the first time. It's simple, mostly neat and efficient. I have a 2015 Audi Q5 with a 3.0T engine. There are some fairly significant underbody panels that must be removed to access the oil plug for conventional replacement. I agree with the excellent review from JC which was at the top of my favorite reviews when I bought this and finally got around to using it a few months later. All parts of the pump are fairly strong, but both the pump and suction tube are attached to the ball chamber with friction-locked push-in fittings with soft plastic gaskets - they are not bolted. You need to press them firmly and keep the bottom of the pump on the main ball while pumping. 20-30 strokes are enough and you will immediately see the oil flow. You definitely want the oil to be warm (but not hot), although my machine uses 0-40w oil so it flows pretty easily anyway. Oil pan with a length edge. The dipstick cap (there is no physical dipstick on the Audi) is on the front of the engine block, but the tube can easily get anywhere in the engine bay. The main caveat for me was that my engine has a 6.5L oil capacity, but this extractor has a 6.0L capacity. I didn't expect to spill so much oil, but the reservoir filled up and the oil was sucked into the pump. This creates a big mess and is quite difficult to clean up. I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the comments, but if your crankcase volume is over 5 liters stop it before you get close to the top of the sphere - you only need to remove the top to release the vacuum, the canister drain and finish it. There is a very handy spout that you can use to pour oil from the container. This works great, but when you start pouring you'll get a pretty heavy flow, so work slowly to avoid spilling the oil. You can also turn off the pump and pour out the dirty oil through the top hole. Unlike wrenches and funnels that you have to wipe down to clean, there are many parts that you cannot remove the oil from. out. Don't plan to put it back in the storage box, just take some big bags with you. It was quick, easy and will mostly be neat next time. Don't worry about negative reviews using this right, it works very well.
