I've been using Zero water filters for two or three years now and have found the water tastes good for about a month before the filter needs to be replaced. I like that these are very effective filters. I was looking for a lead removal filter and Zero promises to do it. It would be nice if the filters were accompanied by clear, detailed instructions. Since that's not the case, I'm doing what I've done with competitor filters I've bought in the past. Soak the filter in clean water for 15 minutes, place it in a pitcher, and then filter the two or so gallons of water I use to water my plants before refilling the pitcher and announcing the water is ready for the family.
