Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Brother P-touch PTP750W Wireless Label Maker with NFC Connectivity, USB Interface, Mobile Printing - Black by Damon Mertz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just a few rough edges, but no showstoppers.

PT-P750W offers so many different connectivity and printing options that it's practically a disadvantage. All of this sophistication leads to a somewhat confusing initial setup process. It can also be confusing when switching between connection modes, but once you get the hang of it, this printer will work just fine. I was disappointed to learn that wireless printing is only possible with the included power adapter or the optional BA-E001. Li-ion battery, but not with regular AA batteries. Purchasing a lithium-ion battery adds significantly to the overall cost of the solution, but it's probably worth it for those who carry it around frequently, especially if they want to use it with their smartphone. I think it's good that the PT-P750W is sold without a battery to keep costs down for those who don't need one. Printing from my Windows 10 laptop works fine whether it's using a USB cable with AA batteries or over WiFi with an AC adapter. . Printing from my Android phone also works well over WiFi or WiFi-Direct. I've never been able to get NFC to work, but I think all it should do is launch the Brother app, so it's no big deal. The application sees the printer as soon as I start it and determines what type of labels are installed and how many are left. Handy application for Android. It offers many templates, allows you to save your own formats and has good editing capabilities, but the Windows software is simpler in the long run. The formats are compatible between Windows and Android platforms, so you can manually copy them from your PC and then print them from your smartphone. What would be really cool would be if the mobile app could connect directly to your cloud storage! I haven't tried the "P-Lite" software-less print mode, and I doubt I will. I chose this model specifically because of the capabilities of the Windows software. The PT-P750W doesn't take up any more room in my toolbox than the battery-powered QWERTY (but non-pluggable) PT-1280 I've owned for years. It also works with a wider range of label sizes down to 1 inch. I was planning on keeping this printer in my office, but for all its functionality and portability, I'll probably take it with me on occasion. - The touch system is around 20 years old and the laminated labels always stick well and are very durable. The PT-P750W is a great addition to the lineup for those who need the power of a connected device.
