Review on MEOPTEX Bracket Illuminated Reticle Eyepiece by Cornelius Mosley

Got it as a replacement for the regular GSO viewfinder mount, very poor quality. This mount is good for the price, it will hold and level a spotting scope for stargazing or visual astronomy, but I wouldn't use this for holding a directional sight or sensitive optics. The dovetail base is quite small for the size of the rings so it wobbles a bit when in use, from what I've seen this doesn't affect alignment but eliminates auto-guidance entirely. The adjustment screws are not long enough to work with spotting scopes around 60mm, he openly and honestly advertises that it holds a 60mm scope, but I found that the screws had to be almost fully tightened to make contact with the tube. This makes leveling a 60mm scope very difficult as you only have about 1/8 turn before the screw comes out of the internal travel. This is a little annoying, but not a problem at all if you're using binoculars larger than 60mm. Overall this is a good mount for visual work and allows me to point a large telescope where I want to look with very little effort. 4/5 Stars: Sturdy metal construction, works for what I need, a bit difficult to align if your scope is smaller. there you only have about 1/8 turn before the screw comes out of the inboard.
