Beautiful but bad directions

I just started cross stitching and fell in love with this mermaid when I saw her. It contains printed canvas, which is convenient, but you have to look at the key to get the right color thread. The instructions are very brief to the point where sometimes you don't know what to do! Obviously they were translated because they are not in English. There is a key for the beads but it was left in Chinese and I had to contact the company 3 times to find out. There are no instructions for attaching the beads. This might not be for an experienced person, but as a beginner it's frustrating for me.
