Factory AM/FM/CD removed from a recently purchased 2005 Saturn Vue to fit a modern unit. They removed the factory wiring harness, installed and connected the new radio's colored wires to the wires at this connector, and plugged this connector into the factory wiring harness. The radio tape recorder came to life with no problems, all functions and speakers work. It certainly made things easier than finding a solid circuit and splicing wires with mismatched colors. This is definitely the way to go.
