Just had another run on them and they are the best of the easy options. First I bought one that folds when you push from the bottom and doesn't hold up when folded - no use. They were weaker and sicker. Even worse are those who are always absent. I have an Ariel Rider e-bike that easily transports two people. But I let my daughter take the bike and the auto-folding footpegs wouldn't fold on her first spill and she broke one. In fact, they failed right on the doorstep. These spares (which REMAIN folded) can be stored away when not in use. Of course they'll probably break if I park the bike myself, but 95% of the time they get flipped over because I'm riding alone. Also, tell drivers not to weigh them down when they get on the back. I was having an 'everybody rides' day and one of my passengers weighed about 190 pounds and these things are going to bend like rubber. The bolt isn't thick enough to support 100+ pounds max. If she doesn't like dieting, just ask your partner to flip her leg and put his foot on her AFTER her butt is securely on the seat.
