The impact drill, like all Makita tools, worked great for up to 20 minutes.
The hammer drill, like all Makita tools, worked great until 20 minutes after the first light drill the depth gauge mechanism began to fail. It no longer slips or catches on the depth gauge bar teeth. Unacceptable for only 20 minutes use. Unacceptable for instrumental period Makita. The return/exchange process seems to go very smoothly so far so I'm hoping the seller will go through with it. I will update this review after I change the tool
