Neck too narrow for escort radar mount

I had to take the caliper out before purchasing but many reviews said it would work. It turns out that with 30mm cups, the diameter of the "neck" is 6mm, for mounting the radar "Escort" it should be 9-10mm. Also, the neck clearance is 2.5mm, while my escort's worn cups are closer to 1mm, allowing for a snug fit on the metal bracket; they just fall out. 50mm cups might work (with their 9mm neck) but I couldn't stuff two 50mm cups side-by-side on my mount. The mount just isn't secured with "necks". I bought a completely different secondary mount for one of my cars (windshield angle never worked with the stock Escort mount) but was hoping to keep the mounts in every car. , and just move the detector. Unfortunately, the original suction cups on my tripod are completely worn out and don't have enough flexibility to hold the seal. Sigh, back to the drawing board.
