Great scissors for trimming thread, nose and ear hair etc. I keep these in my bathroom drawer and use them all the time. If you need sewing scissors for pulling out tight threads I would recommend getting a pair with a sharper tip - I really like this pair because it doesn't have a super sharp tip - the tip is sharp enough to hit you. quite narrow places, but at the same time it is not so sharp that it stings and hurts you. In addition to having the right tip shape for my use, I found them to be of very high quality - they have precise cutting edges which limit cleaning - in other words if you cut a piece of paper it cuts fairly easily. rather than bending the jaws of the scissors like some low quality scissors do.
