This shield is amazing, I've been using it for a few months now and haven't had to change it yet. It might get a bit darker, but since I don't have to carry two shields, I can live with that. It changes color based on the intensity of IR radiation, not brightness. This means that in the evening, when the sun is low and there are few rays, it tends to get clearer. Again, this isn't a huge problem as it only lasts about 10 minutes in the evening when it would be nice to be darker and ride in the sun, but again the benefit of not having to change it is big and weighs a minus
