I had never made this before and my kids were urging me to buy a set so I saw them and tried them. The instructions are very simple so you can watch the video online if you've never done it like we have. In these videos we got some useful tips. Either way, you peel off the sticker and stick it where you want it. You then peel off the protective film and you can access the sticky part to place the diamond pieces on it. Once you get started it's actually very easy to make and fun! All items are color coded and numbered so you can't go wrong. Once they're done, click on them to make sure they don't fall off and you're done. It only takes me about 10 minutes to finish one of the stickers if I'm not in a hurry. My daughter who is 7 years old took about 15 minutes. Not bad for a kid. Just enough time to do the craft without losing interest. My 5 year old was able to start with this but got bored and said it was too hard after about 5 minutes. I expected that, so it's not the set's fault. Okay so the problems are I only have 2 and they aren't that bad but I think I should mention them. First, the diamond packs are glued in a line, so you really can't just cut one without hitting the next. Once you have done this, there is no way to save diamonds in that pack again. Luckily I had craft bags, which were small and well suited for this purpose. I used a marker to write a code on each bag so we remember which is which. This set comes with a small tray for grabbing diamonds, which is also very convenient for emptying into a storage bag. Second, the stickers are still sticky even after all the diamonds are inside. I wish they had given you some transparent ones to put on the edges to take up that extra space. As they are they attract all hair, dust and dirt and carry them away from the finished product. My daughter made an underwater scene with all the ocean colored stickers and cards. We were going to frame it when she was done, but I still use tweezers to pull the hair out of everyone. All in all, this set is a good introduction to diamond art. You get a lot of pickup filler. I would recommend this set but make sure you have pockets to store extra diamonds so you don't lose them. but I still use tweezers to pull the hair out of everyone.
