The Ello food storage container set is made of high-quality, glass-like plastic. Surrounding each container is a silicone sleeve that is color matched to the plastic lid. The silicone coating makes the container much safer and easier to handle when the contents are hot. The rubber seals are airtight and seal the containers very well. The containers can be washed in the dishwasher, they will not deform or loosen even with high temperature washing. It is also important that unlike many other plastic containers on the market, this set is microwave safe. I only wish there was a larger container included. I personally don't need a condiment jar very often and would prefer a larger container for food storage. However, that doesn't matter and doesn't affect my overall appreciation for these beautiful, durable, high-quality BPA-free containers.
