Review on 🧵 SINGER Tradition 2277 Sewing Machine: 97 Stitch Applications, Easy-to-Use Free-Arm for Beginners by Amanda Castillo

Very poor workmanship

This is the third Singer machine in our family and the first that we are really dissatisfied with. We knew Singer for the highest build quality - quiet, smooth, reliable, durable. The only thing this car has in common with the famous Singer brand is the name on the body, otherwise it is the exact opposite of the Singer. We only unpacked it a week ago and encountered several problems one after the other. At first she was heavily covered with oil, This made all the stitches greasy - it took a day to clean all the parts that came in contact with the thread (which shouldn't be greasy). We then found that it is very noisy and its "straight" stitch isn't actually straight. The fatal blow was that it couldn't stitch longer than 1mm - even at setting 4. Discussion with a helpful support rep (high marks for that part!) concluded it was a mechanical issue. There are shops that can fix it, but the warranty is very short for such expensive equipment, just 90 days and we're already gone. Delivering and repairing without a guarantee makes no sense, it's too expensive work, it's better to buy a new one. It seems all the problems lie in the really low quality of the parts and assembly. I think Singer is familiar with this problem, so the warranty is unusually short. I recommend avoiding this model altogether—too many things going wrong at the same time. If you receive it as a gift,
