Personally, I didn't like the sound of these bells. This is not due to the bells themselves, but simply to personal taste. In addition, they were too long for my dog because of the clip and she was able to put them in her mouth immediately. No problem if your dog leaves them alone and mine doesn't. I was thinking about keeping them for myself and finding another use for them or giving them back as they are so cute. Before deciding to return them, I gave my daughter a few for her dogs. She loves them, her dogs leave her alone and we can tell if the bells we hear are from my little pup or her little dogs. The bells themselves are absolutely adorable. Glossy ones have a slightly different sound than matte ones and are a bit louder. So overall I would recommend them. They are very cute although they didn't fit my pup the way they work for my daughter's dogs. I originally bought them because I thought they were very cute and they are. They would also be adorable for crafting.
