I have Bought these to standardize the lighting in a new house and to replace 8 boxes and a couple of lamps in junction boxes.Just climbed onto the junction box very happy with the results and quality of light.Wanted to replace the blocks in the boxes (square design off the early 90's) and every time I put the light in the box the spring pops out on one side there is a problem with the design of the spring either d he clip that attaches them to the lamp isn't at the right angle, or the springs themselves just don't have enough tension to stay in the clip that holds them to the can. I'll add some photos later to illustrate the point. We still plan on using them as junction box replacements and I found a phenomenal deal at Lowes on some marker lights to replace cans (bought 12 of these for $33!). Maybe just try dumping the extra bulbs on site as I don't need them right now and it's not worth returning and buying the same one with fewer bulbs at this point. Therefore, I cannot recommend them for replacing blocks in old square design glasses, but I am happy with their use in a junction box. It would be interesting to see how others deal with newer cans (maybe a round design is easier?).
