Review on KontrolFreek FPS Sniper by Matthew Seamster

Cool addition to the accessory

I've been gaming all my life and I've generally found the controllers to be adequate. I admit that I miss them compared to a mouse and keyboard when playing on the computer. The joystick has a limited range of motion while the mouse can be scrolled slowly or moved quickly on the mouse pad. These attributes are great for sniffing for a moment and then turning to hit the attacker. Still, I've always played more on my consoles than my computer, probably due to the size of the monitor and home theater simplicity/configuration. And proprietary games. So having used my mini sticks for FPS games all these years, mainly in Halo and Crackling, the idea of increasing my range of motion with this product intrigued me. The principle is simple; A larger joystick has a larger lateral range of motion. This means you can increase your controller's gaze sensitivity, giving you more range and making small adjustments a little easier. I've now moved from comfortably using Sensitivity 2 in Halo 4 to 4. I can control aiming movement well and can turn faster now. The principle is clear and works. First I tried the shorter version of "CQC" by kontrolfreek seen here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008Y1WGK4/ref=oh_details_o07_s01_i00 but they are shorter than them. appear in the image and don't really add much height, so don't matter. The CQC's grip is decent, but I highly recommend ordering it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NSLGW2/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00 if grip is important to you. I have one on the left joystick as the increased control of control freaks on that stick isn't needed for fps, at least for me. Grip-iT is very soft and therefore very easy to grip. It's just great and compensates a bit for the concavity of a standard 360 joystick. This is another thing I like about Freak Control "snipr"; They have a rounded tip, which seems more logical to me. When quickly changing views in an FPS game, a convex (outwardly rounded) top increases grip contact area. it just means more grip. With a regular 360 joystick, my finger would normally sit on the edge of the joystick platform, making the contact area a small area of the edge. There is a "critical" review of this product in which the reviewer mentions that his fingers "constantly slip off"; he must have been drinking or someone sprayed some wd40 when they weren't looking because your thumb will stay where you put it as long as you control your thumb. Overall I am very satisfied with this product. It solves an existing problem and does it better than anything else I've seen on the market, apart from a mouse and keyboard hack (which I haven't seen but may have been done). This also applies to the left joystick and you will be very satisfied.
