This is the second one I have bought. The first was 2 years ago, exposed to the elements since installation and eventually failed. My 60 lb pooch loves being outdoors and this is an amazing outdoor solution. The first, however, had a spiral line connected to the collar. I think my dog prefers that 10 foot straight line. The coil is pulled up to the main track. It was good and bad: good that he stayed away from her legs, bad because she looked uncomfortable and it limited her walking space. It loosened up a bit over time, but overall I think she's happier with it. She quickly learned not to tangle her legs in the bottom straight line, but until she reaches her limit, her neck must not be pulled. It's like winning.
