After some time using this tool I've decided to change my rating. My false arguments had no basis other than my irritability that day. This device works exactly as described. It uses a very old operating system, but I can work around that. The tablet itself is very durable and has incredible battery life. I ran an offline diagnostic on one of my trucks and this scanner caught every misfire while driving, the battery dropped from 90% to 80% for the entire 50 mile trip while recording real time data from the ECM. I've used the VCI quite a bit and haven't had any indication that it needs charging. My guess is that the VCI is powered/charged via the OBD port. (The only thing I think needs charging is the little LED on the VCI itself). The only problem I really have is the incompatibility with Gmail and that might have a workaround as well. This tool is great for maintaining a fleet of tons of Silverados.
