Go to PlayStore and read reviews of the required companion app (for Android) called "easyBBQ". As you will see, many people had trouble pairing the thermometer with the app. Turns out it won't pair unless Android location services are enabled for that app. You cannot manually pair your phone using the Bluetooth setup commands on your phone. You must use the app. I don't understand why the thermometer needs my phone's GPS coordinates, but if you don't enable them during the first pairing, the app just won't work. Luckily, many reviewers noticed that, otherwise I might have given up. I was able to turn on location services, pair, and turn off again after pairing was complete. Apparently some users are also experiencing app crashes, but I haven't had this problem yet. Aside from wasting an hour of my life, the app and the functionality of the thermometer seem good.
